The short version
- MC² has no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
- Your Microsoft password never reaches MC². Sign-in happens with Microsoft directly.
- Almost everything MC² does happens on your own computer. The MC² backend only holds what the online features need, and much of it expires on its own.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it except with the services listed below that make a feature work.
On your computer
MC² keeps its library (your packs, worlds, settings, keybinds and logs) in its own folder on your computer. Your Microsoft sign-in token is stored there too, readable only by your user account, so you do not have to sign in every time. None of this leaves your computer unless you use a feature that needs it.
On the MC² backend
The online features (friends, sharing, capes and ranks) run on a small backend hosted on Cloudflare. It proves who you are by checking with Mojang, and then holds:
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your Minecraft UUID and username | To know who you are to your friends | While you use the online features |
| Your friends list and online status | Friends and presence | Until you remove the friend |
| Chat messages, shared packs and sync changes sent while a friend is offline | To deliver them when they come back | Until delivered |
| Shared pack recipes and share links (the mod list, not the files) | So a friend can rebuild the pack | 30 days |
| Profile and pack pages you choose to publish | Public pages | 1 year |
| Your uploaded cape image | So other MC² players can see it | Until you remove it |
| The ranks you hold | To show your rank | While you hold it |
| Remote console sessions for your server | The phone console | 6 hours after last use |
Your Minecraft username, cape and rank are visible to other players. That is the point of them.
Payments
If you buy a rank, payment happens on Stripe. MC² never sees your card details. We keep the Minecraft account the rank is for and a Stripe customer reference, so the rank can be granted and, for a subscription, removed when it ends. Stripe's own privacy policy covers what Stripe keeps.
Services MC² talks to
To do its job, MC² connects to other services. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Microsoft, Xbox and Mojang to sign you in and download the game.
- Modrinth and CurseForge to search and download mods. CurseForge requests go through the MC² backend.
- Stripe for rank payments.
- GitHub for updates and plugins.
- Discord, on your computer only, if Discord is running, to show what you are playing.
- playit.gg and exaroton only if you choose them to host or open a server.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and the MC² backend.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It loads everything from itself, and asks the MC² backend and GitHub for the rank list and the latest version. Cloudflare, which hosts it, may keep standard server logs.
Plugins
Plugins are written by other people. A plugin can only use the permissions it asks for, and you see them before you install it, but what a plugin does with its network permission is up to its author. Only install plugins you trust.
Children
MC² is a launcher for Minecraft: Java Edition, which needs a Microsoft account. We do not knowingly collect anything from children beyond what the online features above need. Buying a rank requires a parent or guardian's permission if you are under the age of majority where you live.
Deleting your data
Remove your cape and friends in the app, and anything waiting for delivery disappears once delivered. To have everything the backend holds about your Minecraft account deleted, open an issue on our GitHub, or contact us through the link below, with your Minecraft username. To remove what is on your computer, delete the MC² app and its folder.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes here with a new date at the top.
